My name is Robert H. Lawson, and I am proud to be the Mayor of Burnside. Thank you for visiting our website, and I hope you will visit us in person too. We are a small, friendly community and our history is deeply tied to nearby beautiful Lake Cumberland.

I retired from the U.S. Army, where I spent twenty-two years in the 100th Training Division. After my military service, I retired from Lendmark Financial Services and spent forty-five years in the finance business prior to becoming Mayor in August of 2017. I am married to Susi Brooks Lawson, a Burnside native, and we have a total of 5 children and 10 grandchildren together.

Having lived in Burnside for many years, I love our town, its citizens, and its potential for new growth. I have a vision for the town that includes a variety of improvements and additions, such as a lakeside walking trail, increased sidewalk areas, a community museum, improved infrastructure for utilities services, and an expansion of local tourism efforts. I see a future for Burnside that is bright with sustained business retention and industrial partner recruitment.

Most of all, I want all citizens and guests to feel welcome and at home in Burnside. Enjoy all Burnside has to offer by checking out the many places to eat, stay, and play in our small town.
